The rest of summer

This summer has gone by fast!  We have had beautiful weather and have been trying to take advantage of it as much as we can; it will be gone soon.  Lucy is getting so big!  Sitting up, crawling, balancing on her knees, pulling herself up.  She is such a curious little girl, and so smart too!  She can figure almost anything out.

Richard and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary by staying in a cabin on Mt. Hood in Oregon.  Since it's summer, there wasn't any snow on the ground, it was actually pretty warm, but it was still nice to get away.

On the ski slope they had lots of "summer" activities.  We just watched :)

These next few pictures are just random ones from our daily life at the Doe house.

I love her little ears

She's finally big enough for her jumper.

She loves looking through her diaper bag :)

Such a good crawler now, and really fast!

We went to a lake with the youth group earlier this summer and Lucy came along.  She got to hang out with everyone and try out her new bathing suit in the cold lake.  She didn't stay in for long :)

And she's had enough

Grandma CC came to visit

My mom came up to visit us a few weeks ago when Richard was gone at youth camp.  It was really great having her here to help and spend time with Lucy.  Lucy really loved spending time with her grandma too!  We were able to do a lot of fun Vancouver/Portland stuff since the weather was so beautiful.

Thanks mom for coming to visit!  We miss you and the rest of the Arizona family a lot!

4th of July and water fun

This summer is going by quickly!  We have had a lot of nice weather here in Washington, actually pretty hot weather, which is very nice.  Here are some pictures of Lucy's first 4th of July.  She spent the night sleeping away in her bed while extremely loud, booming fireworks went off all around her.  I can't believe she slept through all the noise!  I was kind of looking forward to her reaction to fireworks.  I guess we'll have to wait until next year.
Me and Lucy at a concert in the park on the 4th of July

Since it has been pretty warm, I've tried to think of fun things Lucy can do with water outside.  Here's her playing in her highchair filled with water.  She thought it was pretty cool for about 5 minutes :)

Solid food video

Here's the latest Lucy video!  It's fun seeing her reaction to some of her new foods.  I love how she likes to look at the camera too :)

Six month photos

I can't believe Lucy is already 6 months!  That's half a year!  Lucy grows so fast and every day we notice something new she has learned or is doing.  Right now she is at the point where she's discovering she can roll multiple times.  She's also eating more solid foods; she's tried sweet potatoes, squash, carrots, pears and avocado (really doesn't like avocado).  She is such a sweet, loving, smart and beautiful baby girl and I thank God daily for her.

We had her 6 month appointment today.  She is average height and smaller weight wise, according to our pediatrician.  26" long and 13 lbs. 11 oz.  She had to get 3 shots, the worst part of the Dr. visits :(  It's so sad seeing her be so sad... but the good news is, no more shots until one year!

I wanted to take some pictures to document her being 6 months.  I think for her one year photos I will ask my photographer friend to take some so that I can be in more :)

Here's a comparison photo: 1 week and 6 months :)
Daddy loves Lucy so much!

We tried some outside, but it was pretty bright out.

I love her little scrunchy face here
