Baby room

Here's our little girls room.  It's purple, of course, hopefully she likes it :)  We're only three weeks away from our due date and getting pretty excited (and a little nervous)!

I made the curtains, bed skirt, bumper, blanket and pillow out of this pretty dark purple fabric I found at JoAnn's

The frame above her bed will eventually have her name in it :)

We painted the dresser and shelf white to match her crib.

This beautiful rocking chair was a garage sale find!

She already has many bows and headbands :)

Thanksgiving 2011

Here's the one picture we took this Thanksgiving.  It was a nice and quiet time with the Doe family here in Washington.  I'm so thankful for the many things God has blessed us with this year, especially the little baby girl growing in my belly :)  I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving too.  Now time to get out the Christmas decorations!

WA Baby Shower

My mother-in-law and a few friends threw me a very beautiful baby shower here in Washington last weekend.  There was a lot of purple, cupcakes and scrapbooking and I had such a good time.  My mom was able to fly up for it and it was really great having her here too.

Such pretty table settings and yummy cupcakes

My mother-in-law Lori, me and my mom :)

Courtney, me and Sarah.  Such wonderful party planners!

Awesome diaper tricycle made by Courtney and Sarah
There were scrapbooking materials for everyone to create a page for our first baby book

My mom got the size of my belly exactly!

We received so many wonderful gifts from everyone!

Thank you everyone for making this baby shower so special.  We definitely feel loved!

Jesse Allen

My brother, Jesse, is on the Chaparral golf team this year, a very big accomplishment since they are always a great golf team.  My parents wanted me to get some photo's of him with his golf attire and they turned out great.  I'm so glad Richard and I were able to see one of his golf tournaments while we were visiting.  I'm so proud of you Jesse!!

Finley Faith

While we were in AZ, I did a quick photo session of my cousin's beautiful 3 month old daughter, Finley.  And of course she was adorable with her many bows and flowers :)  Look at those big, blue eyes!

AZ fall trip

I just got back from spending 10 days in Arizona!  It was great, and Richard came a few days later.  The weather was pretty warm, in the 90's but since the gloomy weather has already started in Washington, it was a nice change.

We packed a lot of stuff into the week we were there and it went by pretty fast.  The first weekend I was there I went to a wedding and had a baby shower.  Then we got to watch my brother Jesse play in one of his Chaparral golf matches.  And the following weekend we watched one Jonny's football games at MCC and went to a Cardinals game.  Always a lot to do when we visit, but it's still a nice and relaxing time.

Me and Alexandra.  I was so happy we were able to be in AZ at the same time!

AZ Baby Shower

My mom and cousin Karie threw me a baby shower last weekend while we were in Arizona.  It was beautiful and so much fun!  I'm so thankful for such wonderful family and friends.  My cousins Alexandra and Ashleigh who live out of state were able to be there too!  Thank you to everyone who came and "showered" us with baby gifts :)

We played this fun game where people had to guess who each baby from the Lawrence and Doe families were.
Me at 1 year (and bald) and Richard at 9 months (with lots of hair)
My brothers even made it to the shower!

My grandma made our little girl this beautiful quilt.
Each of my brothers got us something from an AZ sports team :)

Latest house updates

Now that it's been nicer outside, we've tried to get some projects out of the way.  Weeds are something we didn't have to deal with much in Arizona, but here, they don't GO AWAY!  We've tried so hard to get rid of them in our front and back yards, but some always start growing back.  Any tips would be welcome :)

So we redid the front/side of our house and added mulch and a few plants, it turned out pretty good! (except for the weeds that have been creeping back)

This past weekend, we refinished our backyard deck.  It was pretty worn down due to all the rain we get here in the NW and didn't look like it had been cared for in years, so it was on our to-do list of projects.  Richard and a few friends helped sand it, which took forever!  Then we painted it the next day.  It doesn't look brand new, but its definitely an improvement.  And we're happy it's done!

We're having a girl!!

A week ago we found out that our little baby is a girl!!  I had been so anxious about finding out if our baby was a boy or a girl, and Richard and I were so excited that morning going into our ultrasound.  I was also just excited to see our baby again.  It is such a cool experience seeing your little baby that is growing inside you moving on the ultrasound screen.  For that little moment in time you get to see that amazing creation.

During our ultrasound, our baby was moving around quite a bit.  I kind of expected that because during our last ultrasound when she was only 10.5 weeks she did a little flip for us, and I had starting feeling her kicks earlier that week, her many kicks!  I'm starting to think that we might have a pretty active baby, either that or a really smart one that is very aware of her surroundings :)  Anyways, since she was moving around a lot, the ultrasound technician had to keep re-measuring things because our little girl kept changing positions.  It was really amazing to see and I kind of wish we would have recorded it on our camera so we could look at it whenever we wanted.

When the ultrasound lady was looking at her "leg area" she asked if we wanted to know the gender, and of course we did!  She said it was definitely a girl!  And pointed everything out for us to see.  Richard said he had a feeling it might be a girl and he was right!  I, on the other hand, had no idea.  We were both so excited and happy about hearing this great news (we would have been either way).  Knowing the the gender of our baby makes everything seem that much more real and we are so excited to finally meet her.  It's crazy how much love I feel for her already and it's only going to grow.

We got the ultrasound readings back a few days later and everything looks very healthy!  We are SO thankful for this amazing blessing!

Thank you to everyone for your continual thoughts and prayers, they mean so much to us and we are so happy to be starting this new chapter in our lives.
