Sophia and Micah

While in Arizona last week, Richard and I had the pleasure of watching our niece and nephew all day long. It was so much fun spending time with them since we don't get to very often :) And I, of course, took many pictures!

I love how the Dr. Seuss book is her music :)

I took so many pictures of them and they're not even my kids :) They are two of the sweetest kids and we loved spending time with them. We love you Sophia and Micah!

Klineline Park in the fall

I've been a little bored lately and the cold/rainy weather hasn't been helping much. A couple of days ago the rain let up for a little bit so I decided to take my camera and stroll through Klineline Park, a park not too far from our house. The fall colors this year don't seem as colorful as last year, but it's still fun taking pictures :) Here are some of my favorites.

Northwest Sunsets

Lately I have been taking pictures of sunsets. Not for any particular reason. We are just having the last of our clear days here in Vancouver and I guess I wanted to take advantage of that.

These above were taken at church after Saturday night service.

These last ones were taken overlooking the Columbia River. There's a walking path that goes along the I-5 bridge and we thought it would be fun to check it out. We live in a very beautiful place.

I love how the colors reflect on the water.

(I do miss the Arizona desert sunsets though, those will always be my favorite:)

Fall is here!

It's starting to get colder her in Vancouver. Summer seemed to actually be a little longer this year compared to last so that was great! However, I am excited for the leaves to change pretty colors and for more pumpkin spice latte's!

It's been fun decorating our house for Halloween and Christmas will be even more fun :) Everything still looks so green around our neighborhood but I just took these pictures yesterday.

I don't know if you can tell, but we took out a big bush that was under the bay window in the front yard. We think it looks so much better now and actually makes our house appear larger.

The backyard is still a work in progress, which will probably continue to next spring but I did get to plant my lilac bush!

Wedding shoot with Courtney

Last weekend, my friend Courtney, who is a photographer, asked me if I would want to help her shoot her first wedding. I was excited because I just got my new SLR camera and wanted to practice with it but I was also nervous because I'm still learning how to use it in manual.

The day turned out to be a lot of fun and I learned so much! We started at Officers Row in Downtown Vancouver to take some before pictures. Then came the ceremony and reception at a church nearby. We were both exhausted by the end of our 7 hour day!

Here are some of my favorites I took at the wedding.

Thanks for letting me be your "assistant" for the day Courtney! Check out her blog in my bloglist to the right :)

Japanese gardens

We've had some nice weather this September so my sister-in-law Randee and I decided to go see the Japanese gardens in Portland. We both had never been there before but we have seen the Rose gardens which are right next to the Japanese gardens.

It was a perfect place to try out my new SLR camera! The gardens were beautiful and very peaceful. It felt like we were in the movie The Secret Garden.

My little brother (one of them)

One of the reasons that it is very hard to be so far away from family and friends in Arizona is because I don't get to watch my brothers play sports. I always went to as many games as I could when we lived there, basketball, baseball, football, golf... they are very athletic :) I love all three of my brothers very much and it's hard not being there while they're growing up. But one thing Richard and I are thankful for is that some of the Chaparral football games are played live online!

Chaparral played Mesquite this past Thursday and beat them 48-21! But that's not even the exciting part, my brother Jonny made the third touchdown of the game and we got to watch it!! Jonny has been working very hard to be a great wide receiver this season and we are all very proud of him. The game is saved on the website so I recorded his awesome TD and here it is :)
